![]() ![]() ![]() Once data have been collected, they are usually transferred to a picture archiving and communication system, PACS. The data storage space on the scanning computer is limited. Not only may it be difficult to reschedule time on the display console of the clinical scanner, but the data may no longer be on the scanner. Frequently, after what may be thought as the completion of a session, additional questions are raised and another session of data analysis is required. ![]() On a clinical scanner, there may not be sufficient free time available to carry out a thorough examination of the data or to complete lengthy procedures such as 3D reconstructions. As previously indicated, the analysis and manipulation of the data at this stage can be extremely time consuming. Once the raw data have been collected and processed according to specification in the protocol, they are sent to be viewed on the display console (Figure 7.62). The one used to select the protocol and direct the scanning operations is termed the operating console. Most clinical MDCT units have two workstations or consoles. ![]()
